Villa Park man stabbed at Brixie's in Brookfield early Sunday morning

BROOKFIELD – Brookfield police announced that a man was stabbed at Brixie's Bar and Grill, 9526 Ogden Ave., in Brookfield early on Sunday morning.

Police were called at about 3:59 a.m. to Brixie's parking lot and found a 27-year-old Villa Park man on the ground with a stab wound to his abdomen. The man was taken to Loyola Hospital.

La Grange police arrested a suspect nearby, parked in a red Lincoln in the 7-Eleven parking lot at Ogden and East avenues. The suspect was taken to Brookfield Police Department.

A black knife was found in the vehicle, according to police reports.

No charges have been filed against the suspect, and the case is currently under review by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, according to Brookfield police Lt. Ed Petrak.
