Enroll Lake County! has scheduled a day in northwestern Lake County for residents to enroll in health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

On Saturday, certified navigators will be available to answer questions and enroll residents from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Antioch Library, 757 Main St. and the United Methodist Church of Antioch at 848 Main St. in Antioch.

Walk-in appointments will be available, but appointments are preferred and can be made by calling 847-377-4999.

Spearheaded by the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center in partnership with The Alliance for Human Services, Enroll Lake County! is the initiative working to educate and enroll Lake County residents in health care under the Affordable Care Act.

Nearly 80 specially trained and certified counselors, called navigators, are available at 28 sites throughout the county to assist, answer questions and work with residents to enroll for health insurance. Their services are free.

Since October, Enroll Lake County! navigators have educated more than 10,000 individuals and helped more than 3,000 complete applications.

Under the Affordable Care Act, thousands of Illinoisans who previously were unable to get insurance can now get covered.
