Calla Montana, a third grade student at La Grange Highlands Elementary School, was selected to be this year's junior grand marshal of the La Grange Pet Parade.

LA GRANGE – The La Grange Pet Parade committee kicked off its 2014 season with their announcement of who the lucky junior grand marshal of the La Grange Pet Parade will be this year.

Calla Montana, a third grade student at La Grange Highlands Elementary School, was selected to be this year’s junior grand marshal of the parade. Calla and many other local children were put in the running for the role after submitting their theme idea for the Pet Parade through a contest held by the committee.

Calla’s winning entry, “The Pet Parade is 68! Let’s Go Out and Celebrate!” will be this year’s theme. As the junior grand marshal, Calla will be honored in her own V.I.P parade convertible, which will drive the route.

All are invited to see Calla and the rest of the Pet Parade’s participants on May 31.
