DOWNERS GROVE – Friday night was Danny Spinuzza's night.

The Downers Grove South senior scored a career-high 27 points to propel the Mustangs to a 66-51 win over visiting Addison Trail.

Spinuzza scored nine of the team's first 11 points and the Mustangs raced out to a 13-3 lead. He swished a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to go into halftime with 19 points, matching AT's total for the half. DGS led 33-19 at the break and was barely threatened the rest of the way.

"It was just make a couple shots and then feel good," Spinuzza said. "The team starts going and everything starts feeling good. It was just my night."

The Blazers (9-12, 4-3 West Suburban Gold) entered the game with a three-game winning streak, all conference games, but the Mustangs (7-9, 4-3 WSG) responded every time the Blazers tried to make a run.

AT cut the lead to 41-30 in the third quarter, but DGS scored the next 10 points. In the fourth, the Blazers opened the quarter on a 7-0 run to get back with 11 points at 53-42, but Paul Engo (13 points) converted a 3-point play on the next possession.

Taylor White led the Blazers with 16 points. James Pupillo added 11.
