The DuPage Birding Club will host four free outings in mid to late February, according to a news release from the group.
At 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jeff Reiter will lead a program in Wheaton's Cantigny Park, the release said. Birders should enter through the main gate on Winfield Road and meet at the Visitors Center. The parking fee will be waived. To participate, contact Reiter at email@example.com.
Two more walks will be held Feb. 16. The first, starting at 7 a.m., will be an all-day trip to several sites along the Mississippi River to see bald eagles, raptors, gulls and waterfowl, according to the release. The trip begins at the parking lot west of Yorktown Mall's main building in Lombard. The trip is limited to 20 people. Finally, at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 22, birders can explore some of the less visited parts of Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville, according to the release. Kyle Wiktor will begin the walk at the archery range parking lot, off the first left at the intersection after entering Blackwell from Butterfield Road.
