GLEN ELLYN – The village of Glen Ellyn is reaching out to the public for its opinions regarding proposed designs for village signs.
A survey will be available on the village website, www.glenellyn.org, until 8 a.m. Monday. All residents, business owners and community stakeholders are invited to respond.
As part of the village's ongoing wayfinding study, survey responses will help Glen Ellyn finalize the design of its new signs.
This latest survey is a follow-up to a previous survey conducted during summer 2013 by project consultants, The Lakota Group and Western Remac.
Respondents of that survey overwhelmingly supported a more traditional sign design, according to a village news release. The consultants have now prepared two variations of this design for public review.
The signage and wayfinding study was recommended by Glen Ellyn’s 2009 Downtown Strategic Plan. Its purpose is to strengthen the village's economy by better directing community members to shopping districts, parking facilities and other community assets, the release said.
