Glen Ellyn police respond to burglary, armed robbery reports

GLEN ELLYN – Glen Ellyn police responded to three commercial burglaries and an armed robbery between Jan. 18 and 20, according to police reports.

The burglaries occurred at businesses along Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn on Jan. 18, reports said.

Glen Ellyn police responded to an activated burglar alarm at 2:48 a.m. at Radio Shack, 553 Roosevelt Road, and found both Radio Shack and 2Q4U Nails, 557 Roosevelt Road, had been burglarized, according to reports.

The front doors to the adjacent businesses had been shattered, reports said. At that time, the loss of property had not yet been determined.

When officers responded to the two burglaries, they found the front door of Nail Tek, 688 Roosevelt Road, also had been shattered, according to reports. A Samsung TV was damaged inside the business, but nothing appeared to be taken.

Two unknown offenders robbed a man at knifepoint at 1:14 a.m. Jan. 20 at Main Street and Crescent Boulevard, reports said.

The suspects stole the victim’s LG slider cell phone and wallet, according to reports, which contained $40.
