THUMBS UP: It's always good to see a pro athlete who hasn't forgotten where he came from. Willowbrook High School alumnus Rob Scahill, a pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, returned to his alma mater Jan. 19 to offer his expertise at the school's baseball clinic. It was nice to have you back, Rob. Good luck at spring training.

THUMBS UP: With the Academy Awards still several weeks away, Willowbrook High School rolled out the "red" carpet for its student-actors with special needs. The ceremony, dubbed the "Krause-cars" after Willowbrook Principal Dan Krause, featured a silver-carpet entrance, photo ops and the presentation of statues honoring performances from the school's production of "High School Musical Junior" last fall.
