THUMBS UP: Kids and adults alike appeared to enjoy the thrills and chills at WinterFEST on Jan. 19 at Community Park in Addison. Families hit the slopes for sledding and warmed up next to a fire while roasting marshmallows. The fest also featured snow volleyball and a family snowman-building contest. Inside, residents decorated cookies and children got their faces painted. Sounds like fun.

THUMBS UP: Congratulations to the Addison Trail Special Olympics basketball team, which recently captured third-place honors in Division 4 at the 2014 Special Olympics District C Basketball Tournament.
