The new year promises to be a very busy and exciting one for the Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Our first event was our annual meeting and election, when Mayor Rich Veenstra gave his State of the Village address. If you were unable to attend, it was videotaped by Addison’s Community Relations Department staff for airing on Channel 6.
Our new Addison Community Directory was published in late January – if you did not receive one, they will be available at the Addison Village Hall, library, park district and in our office. It is a valuable source of information on community services, organizations, local businesses and services, complete with a listing of all of our members with contact information.
Feb. 27 is the date of our next monthly luncheon meeting, a multi-chamber event with members of the Addison, Bensenville, Villa Park and Wood Dale chambers, when our guest speaker, Dan Gartlan, president of Stevens & Tate Marketing, will discuss “Attraction marketing gets results: Proven marketing strategies to draw prospects to your brand and help drive sales.” As always, the event is open to members and nonmembers, and reservations are required prior to the event.
The next day, Feb. 28, is the day of the 18th Annual Five Star Business EXPO which will include a Health Fair. Our generous SuperStar Sponsors are Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, Republic Services and Sunrise Chevrolet. It is open and free to the public. Come on by, visit with our exhibitors, enjoy some complimentary food samples from our participating food vendors, and take advantage of the health-related opportunities offered. This is the first year the event, will be held here in Addison at the beautiful Medinah Shrine Center, 550 Shriners Drive – from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you will be planning a wedding or other special event in the coming year or so, mark your calendar to attend our free Wedding & Special Events EXPO from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30 at Alta Villa Banquets, 430 N. Addison Road. Exhibitors will include many of the services and goods you will be looking for: fashions, tuxedos, entertainers, printers, banquet facilities, locations for a shower, wedding rehearsal dinner, photographers, and so much more, including a bridal and formal wear fashion show.
