Westmont is truly a community that cares.
Whether it is volunteering their time, donating food, clothing or other supplies, or running a 5K for a good cause, the people of Westmont are consistently generous.
The staff at Westmont Public Library have had the opportunity to witness your generosity on several occasions when the library has been a drop-off site for sock drives, food drives and most recently, a pet supply drive.
In cooperation with the Westmont Reads program, during the month of January the library is holding a pet supply drive to aid in collecting much needed supplies for the West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS).
After just two weeks, the collection bin is overflowing with items for the animals! Anyone who wants to contribute can check our newsletter online at westmontlibrary.org or come in for a list of the supplies we are accepting.
Some of the rescue animals that Westmont residents are helping will be in the library at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9. Representatives from the Humane Society will talk about their work in the community and discuss volunteer opportunities for teens and adults. A few dogs that are up for adoption will be at the library as well.
Thank you to all of the generous Westmont residents who have taken the time to come in and bring a donation for the animals in need.
We are thrilled that our community is always looking at how they can give to those in need and we are honored to be a part of it!
Kate Buckson is the marketing coordinator for the Village of Westmont.
