Norwegian National League of Chicago offering scholarships to area students

The Norwegian National League of Chicago is offering scholarships for students of Norwegian heritage in DuPage and other collar counties, according to a news release from the organization.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 who has already been accepted to college or university, the release said. Cash prizes will also be available for students in first through eleventh grades.

To qualify, students in grades five and up must submit an original essay on a Norwegian topic and students in first through fourth grades must submit an original drawing depicting a Norwegian subject.

Entries must be postmarked by March 1, according to the release.
