DOWNERS GROVE – The Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry will be joining together, creating a new chamber entity.

The boards of directors from both chambers believe the merger will be a "tremendous value" for businesses in the area, according to a press release from the Downers Grove Chamber.

While the two chambers still have business and legal work to address, benefits for members will begin right away with joint events, a bigger client base and increased marketing exposure, the release states.

"I am excited about the impact that this alliance will have to our members who will be kept informed through special meetings, website postings, newsletters, etc.," said Dan Coil, chairman of the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce.

Although the two are forming one entity, both chambers will still hold a physical presence in their villages, the release states.
