Published: Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 12:03 p.m. CDT

Darlene Senger, Republican for the Illinois 11th Congressional District, received the endorsement of DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin on Monday.

Senger said the endorsement by Cronin shows she is the right Republican for the district, according to a news release.

Cronin said DuPage County has stood for lower taxes, less government interference and educational opportunities. Having known Senger for several years, Cronin said he is supporting Senger as she will bring those principles out of Washington and into DuPage County, according to the release.

Senger has lived in Naperville for 20 years and before that resided in Clarendon Hills.
