HINSDALE – A dog obedience class for canines 1 year old and up will take place at The Community House, 415 W. 8th St.

This class is for older dogs who require a "refresher" for polite behavior, need to improve on social skills or maybe want to learn a few new tricks, according to a news release from The Community House.

In this session, participants will fine tune basic commands and issues relating to every day activities such as pulling on leash, not begging at the table and jumping. Proof of up to date vaccinations, current deworming or negative fecal sample result are required. Aggressive dogs are asked not to attend.

The first class is a human orientation only and is an overview of what to expect in this session. The puppy’s up-to-date vaccinations, proof of deworming or negative fecal sample result are required on the first day.

Classes will run from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturdays from Jan. 25 to March 8 and each puppy should be accompanied by at least one adult handler over 17 years old.
