Bolingbrook man robbed in prostitution set-up: police

BOLINGBROOK – A Bolingbrook man who thought he was paying a Joliet woman for sex instead was robbed at gunpoint, according to Bolingbrook police.

The 25-year-old man met Chelsea S. Dean, 18, of 307 Stryker, Joliet, at a residence in the 1300 block of Parkside Drive around 10:43 p.m. Sunday but once inside, Jesus M. Simms, 21, of 1317 Parkside Drive, Bolingbrook, allegedly pointed a gun to his head before taking $85 in cash from his pockets, according to Lt. Michael Rompa.

Dean and Simms then kicked the victim out of the house and proceeded to call police alleging that the victim was Dean's ex-boyfriend, and that he choked and threatened her with a gun before leaving, police said.

Police later located the victim, obtained additional information and determined that Dean and Simms had made a false police report and that the victim had arranged to meet Dean through an advertisement for sex but was instead robbed, according to police.

Dean was charged with armed robbery, filing a false police report and prostitution, and Simms was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and filing a false police report, police said.

The victim was not charged with a crime, according to police.
