Lemont man dies in Archer Avenue crash

LEMONT – A Lemont man, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash at 6:20 a.m. Monday morning on Archer Avenue near Parker Road in unincorporated Cook County near Lemont, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Ken Ulanski, 48, was driving northbound on Archer Avenue and passing vehicles on the right shoulder when his vehicle lost control, spun into the southbound lane and was struck by a southbound vehicle, a spokesperson with the sheriff's office said.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 42-year-old Chicago man, has been transported to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

Archer Avenue between Bell and McCarthy roads was closed after the crash so the incident could be investigated, the spokesperson said.

According to Ulanski's LinkedIn profile, he started working in November as a tool and die maker at Advanced Technology Services in Bellwood.
