Bartlett and Streamwood will be among the recipients of more than $18.6 million in capital investments for construction projects in Cook County, according to a Dec. 19 news release from the Office of Governor Pat Quinn.

U.S. Route 20 (Lake Street) from Oak to Park avenues will receive $2,276,399 in improvements by Alliance Contractors, Inc., of Woodstock, the lowest of seven bidders, the release said.

The work will involve widening, resurfacing, shoulder work and traffic signal modernization, according to the release, and will be overseen by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The investments are part of Quinn's Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program, the release said, and will provide jobs locally.
