BROOKFIELD – A 2-month-old western lowland gorilla, born at Brookfield Zoo Nov. 4, spends quality time with her mom, Koola, 18.

The not-yet-named baby and the rest of the zoo's gorillas may be seen during regular zoo hours. According to zoo officials, western lowland gorillas are critically endangered due to destruction of their habitat from logging, disease such as the Ebola virus, the illegal pet trade and poaching for bushmeat.
