GLEN ELLYN – Hadley Junior High School in Glen Ellyn will host its third annual POW! (Powerful Outstanding Women) event for female students and the special women in their lives Jan. 18.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. until noon at Hadley, 240 Hawthorne Blvd.

POW! was started two years ago by teacher Hillary Shumate as a way to help female students feel good about themselves by participating in activities about entrepreneurship, improvisation, art, journaling, healthy eating and more.

Students are encouraged to bring their moms, grandmas, aunts or other female family members to the free event.
