DuPagePads to offer online volunteer training

Published: Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 12:58 p.m. CST

DuPagePads will soon offer an online training program for potential volunteers, according to a news release from the nonprofit.

Beginning Jan. 6, volunteers can log in to the DuPagePads website to learn about the agency's mission, programs, services, best practices, volunteer roles and more. The effort is being paid for by a $30,000 grant from the Spirit of Volunteerism Fund of the DuPage Community Foundation, the release said.

Training materials will be available on the site for all registered volunteers, according to the release.

"We know that we could not provide all of our services without the tremendous support of our volunteers," said Carol Simler, executive director of DuPagePads, in the release. "The information and skills learned in the training modules will empower volunteers to complete the training at a convenient time for them."
