BOLINGBROOK – The holidays were brighter for 15 Humphrey Middle School families thanks to another Humphrey Helping Hands campaign.

Led by seventh-grade teacher Claudine Sharko, Humphrey staff and local businesses contributed $2,214 during the three-week fundraising effort. The money was used to purchase winter coats, toys, books, gift cards to local grocery stores and other items for families.

Humphrey elves who assisted this year were Judy Elmore, Bridget James, Linda Eddins, Heather Eck, Jennifer Thom, Michelle Stiff, Jana Reeves, Mary Kuliavas, Karen Manak, Kathy Fritz, Kaylee Lawrence, Karen Manak, Sandi Saracco, Nancy Goins, Mary Alice Mittelheuser, and Kelly Williams. Leticia Sanborn from Bolingbrook High School also served as an elf.

Local businesses that contributed to the success included All Line Car Star Auto Body, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Bolingbrook Lions Club, St. Benedict’s Church, Papa’s Pizza Place, Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, Naperbrook Plumbing, Grove Dental and MB Financial Bank.
