VILLA PARK – The Villa Park Fire Department is warning residents to stay off frozen lakes, streams and ponds.

All winter ice should be treated as thin ice and considered dangerous, according to a release from the department. Parents are encouraged to caution their children about the dangers of thin ice and to keep them away.

Individuals walking a dog are asked to keep it on a leash.

For more information on ice safety, contact the Villa Park Fire Department at 630-833-5350.
