Crews began taking down the former Old Spinning Wheel restaurant Dec. 11 near Ogden Avenue and Interstate 294 to make way for the new Adventist Cancer Institute and Outpatient Center.

LA GRANGE – Construction has begun on the new Adventist Cancer Institute and Outpatient Center, which, starting in 2015, will house oncology services for both La Grange and Hinsdale hospitals.

The $48 million, 54,000-square-foot facility will be located near Ogden Avenue at Interstate 294 and include 19 private treatment rooms equipped with entertainment centers and high-tech comforts to help patients stay connected to home and work. The center will also feature 21 examination rooms and two linear accelerators, designed to target cancer tumors while minimizing exposure to radiation.

Both the La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation have started raising money to support the new facility but are still in need of more funds.

To support the new center, contact the La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation at 708-245-2902 or the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation at 630-856-2008.
