On behalf of all of us at People’s Resource Center, we’d like to wish you a happy holiday season.
Since 1975, PRC has been a place that people turn to in their time of need – for food, for clothing, for rent assistance, for education and training, to help them through their emergency and to maybe change the course of their future.
Thanks to so many who generously support our work and volunteer each day, PRC is able to help our struggling neighbors preserve their own holiday traditions and create new ones to carry them into the future.
Thanks to the generosity of many, over 3,200 PRC food pantry families chose Thanksgiving ‘trimmings’ and received a gift card for a turkey so they could experience the day at home with their loved ones.
And more than 800 families received Christmas presents for their children through our Share the Spirit program. Each year we are amazed at the outpouring of toys, books, DVDs, gift cards, mittens and hats that the community donates for families who would otherwise go without.
There are many joyous sounds that are associated with the holiday season. At People’s Resource Center, we also celebrate some of the lovely sounds that are heard each day at PRC:
… the crunch of bags as they are filled with healthy, nutritious food to feed a family
… the harmonious voices of students learning to speak English
… the hum of computers as they are repaired and the sounds of joy as students learn to master them
… the swish of the paintbrush against canvases in an art class.
We are so grateful for the many supporters and volunteers who make the work of People’s Resource Center possible. May your holiday traditions bring you joy and may the spirit of the season remain with you all the year through.
Kim Perez is the executive director of People's Resource Center.
