RIVERSIDE – Riverside Brookfield School District 208 and the Riverside Brookfield Education Association approved a new three-year collective bargaining agreement at the board’s Dec. 18 meeting.

The agreement includes cost-containment and cost-reduction measures in the district’s employee health insurance plans; the reinstatement of several extracurricular stipend positions previously eliminated in budget cuts; a 3.5 percent increase in wages for educational support personnel for the 2013-14 school year; and increases in teachers’ salaries based on the consumer price index for the 2015-16 school year.

The bargaining process began in early spring of this year.
