Work begins on Adventist Cancer Institute, Oupatient Center in Hinsdale
HINSDALE – Demolition work marked the beginning of construction on the new Adventist Cancer Institute and Outpatient Center near Ogden Avenue and I-294.
Scheduled for completion in 2015, the center will house oncology services from both Adventist Hinsdale and Adventist La Grange memorial hospitals, as well as imaging services.
At a cost of about $48 million, the 54,000-square-foot facility will include 19 private treatment rooms equipped with entertainment centers and high-tech comforts.
The center will include 21 examination rooms, where patients can visit with their doctor or consult with a surgical oncologist. It will house two linear accelerators, designed to target cancer tumors while minimizing radiation exposure to healthy skin.
While construction is just beginning, other work has also begun to support the new center. Both the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation as well as the La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation have started raising money to support the new facility.
Those interested in supporting the Adventist Cancer Institute and Outpatient Center can do so by contacting either the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation at 630-856-2008 or the La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation at 708-245-2902.
