Yes, it’s that time of year when the world becomes a little brighter, happier and friendlier – the holidays seem to bring a change of heart to most everyone, no matter what their religion or beliefs may be, and we realize that we are among the world’s most fortunate people. Sadly there are still those in need among us, but we also have countless willing citizens who generously give of their time, talents and financial assistance to help.
Thinking back to the past year, the members of the Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry have continued their generous support, which allows us to serve them through our programs which advertise and promote their business and services, and to network with business people from Addison and our surrounding communities. We are also able to reach out to the community-at-large by participating, whenever possible, in community events and activities.
So as we approach the end of 2013, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to our members, all of the Addison business community, our dedicated fire and police personnel who protect and assist us, our public service personnel who keep our utilities operating and our streets free of snow, all of our public servants, and the citizens of this great community.
The new year will bring a host of exciting, new events and informational opportunities which the ACCI is in the process of planning – one thing coming up in January is the release of our new Addison Community Directory. It will provide updated community information which longtime and new residents will find helpful, as well as a current listing of our members, which will help you continue to “Shop Local” for goods and services throughout the year. After publication, if you do not receive one from another source, copies will be available for you to pick up at the Addison Village Hall, the Addison Public Library and Park District – as well as here in the ACCI office at 777 Army Trail Road on the second floor of the MB Bank building.
We cordially invite those in our business and industrial community who are not members, to think about joining to take advantage of our many opportunities and services. For more information please call us at 630-543-4300, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our website www.addisoinchamber.org .
In the meantime, we’re sending you our most sincere wishes for a memorable holiday season, and a new year filled with health, happiness and good fortune.
Bernadette LaRocca is the executive director of the Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
