Wheaton man charged in DUI fatal

WHEATON – A 61-year-old Wheaton man was charged with felony aggravated drunken driving after striking a woman with his truck Thursday in the 6300 block of South Narragansett Avenue in Chicago, according to media reports.

James Rudzinski of the 1000 block of South College Avenue was also charged with a misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk in the death of Bronislawa Zajac, 82, of the 6100 block of West 84th Place, according to reports.

According to reports, Zajac was hit by Rudzinski's truck while he was trying to make a left turn around noon on Thursday.

Zajac was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead, reports said.
