Woodridge receives award for 2013-14 budget

WOODRIDGE – The Village of Woodridge received an award recognizing its 2013-2014 budget during a board meetingDec. 12.

The Distinguished Budget Presentation was awarded to Woodridge by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United Stats and Canada (GFOA).

To receive the award, the village met national guidelines for an effective budget, evaluating how well the budget worked as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device.

The 2013-14 Fiscal Year budget was rated proficient in all categories according to a press release.

“We are honored to receive the award,” said Mayor Gina Cunningham. “The award is a reflection of the hard work of our Finance Department and staff throughout the Village who strive to make sure our budget document best meets the needs of Woodridge residents and our staff.”
