Man arrested on child porn charges

The Carol Stream Police Department concluded a month-long child pornography investigation with the arrest of a man from unincorporated DuPage County near Bensenville.

Earnest W. Brown, 45, of Crest Avenue in unincorporated DuPage County, was arrested Dec. 5 and is being held on $15,000 bond at DuPage County Jail on five felony charges.

Carol Stream police and detectives from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Brown's home and seized computer equipment as well as evidence of child pornography.

Brown was charged with four counts of aggravated possession of child pornography because the children were under 13 and one count of possession of child pornography for a child under 18.

Domestic battery

Stanley L. Bluitt, Sr., 51, 127 Elk Trail, was charged with two counts of domestic battery and assault at 4:42 a.m. Dec. 7 at his home.

Driving under the influence

Ricardo Cardona, 28, 813 23rd Ave., Melrose Park, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to wear a seatbelt at 10:45 a.m. Dec. 3 at the Melrose Park Police Station, 1 N. 19th Ave.

Theft

• A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a parking lot at 11:56 p.m. Dec. 8 in the 600 block of Gundersen Drive.

• A person called for a cab in Naperville to a location in Carol Stream and then ran away from the vehicle without paying after being dropped off at 8:46 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 500 block of Thornhill Drive.

• Two air conditioning units were reported stolen from a rooftop at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 3 in the 200 block of Commonwealth Drive.

Stray dog

A stray black and white pit bull was found at 9 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 600 block of Gundersen Drive. An owner for the animal could not be located, and it was not chipped nor did it have collar. The dog was taken to DuPage County Animal Control.
