DuPage County children will get to ride and shop with local law enforcement agencies this holiday season during the "Shop-with-the-Sheriff" and "Shop-with-a-Cop" events Dec. 14, according to a news release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

Participating children will ride in squad cars with sirens blaring and officers from the Sheriff's Office, the DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association and the DuPage County Sheriff's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 109.

They will depart at 9 a.m. from the Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center, 800 W. St. Charles Road, Glen Ellyn, and will head to Bloomingdale Meijer, 130 S. Gary Ave., Bloomingdale, where each child will shop with a uniformed officer. The children will get to spend $125 donated dollars for their holiday gifts.

After the store visit, the officers will help the children wrap their gifts and and take pictures with Santa.
