Lisle-Woodridge Fire District promotes holiday fire safety

Published: Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 11:55 a.m. CDT

The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District will be participating in the Holiday Fire Safety campaign through December.

While being a part of Keep the Wreaths Red, the five fire stations will display large wreaths with red lights. The lights will remain red unless there is a fire in the district caused by any part of a holiday decoration or display. Each holiday fire will cause a red light to be replaced by a white light.

The program, which ends Jan. 1, is to remind residents to use proper care when setting up holiday displays, lights, candles, Christmas trees and more.

For more information on Keep the Wreaths Red or fire prevention, contact the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Prevention Bureau at 630-353-3030 or visit www.lwfd.org.
