Augustana's Westerberg in line for more awards

York graduate and current Augustana senior linebacker Erik Westerberg will be honored Tuesday evening as a postgraduate scholarship winner and finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy.

The ceremony, from the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, will be streamed live by ESPN3. Coverage begins at 7 p.m.

The event includes the induction of the College Football Hall of Fame Class, the awarding of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards, the announcement of the winner of the 24th William V. Campbell Trophy and the bestowing of the NFF Major Awards.

Westerberg is a 2013 recipient of an $18,000 NFF postgraduate scholarship as well as a finalist for the 24th William V. Campbell Trophy. The senior linebacker is one of just 16 players so honored and one of just two from the NCAA Division III level.

Also on Tuesday, Westerberg was named to the All-Region North first team by D3football.com for the second consecutive season.
