RIVERSIDE – Robert Vais, 54, of Riverside, has been charged with a felony count of aggravated driving under the influence after a traffic incident that resulted in a bicyclist's death, according to a Chicago Police Department report.

The report said Vais was identified as the driver of a van traveling westbound on Ogden Avenue in Chicago that hit a 28-year-old man on a bicycle.

The bicyclist was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition and subsequently died from his injuries, according to the report.

Vais was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and cited for a failure to reduce speed, according to the report.

A Cook County judge set Vais' bond at $400,000, according to media reports.
