Woodridge after-school program offers pajama drive

Published: Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 10:42 a.m. CDT

WOODRIDGE – The KIDZ Squad program, an after-school program at the Woodridge Park District, is hosting a pajama drive supporting the annual Scholastic Reading Club Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive.

The drive benefits the Pajama Program, which provides new pajamas and books to children in need – specifically in group homes, shelters, foster care or orphanages.

Guidelines for residents regarding donated pajamas include; pajamas must be new, complete sets or nightgowns, all sizes are needed for newborns to adults and the pajamas should be manufactured to be sure the clothes are flameretardant and safe.

For each set of pajamas donated, the Scholastic Reading Club will donate a book to the Pajama Program

The Woodridge Park District, located at 2600 Center Drive, will be accepting donations between now and Dec. 23.

For more information on the program, contact the park district at 630-353-3300 or visit
