Hinsdale police issue 150-plus citations during enforcement campaign

HINSDALE – Declaring Hinsdale Police Department’s participation in Illinois’ annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over drunk driving crackdown and Click It or Ticket campaign a success, the Hinsdale Police Department announced it issued a total of 152 citations during the enforcement period that ran from Nov. 18 to Dec. 1.

The police department reported four drunk driving arrests, 46 citations for no seatbelts, one citation for a child safety seat violation, three driving on a suspended license arrest, eight citations for no insurance, 45 citations for speeding, one person was arrested for drugs and 44 citations were issued for other violations to the Illinois Vehicle Code during the enforcement period.

The Hinsdale Police Department joined forces with hundreds of police agencies across Illinois and nearly 10,000 law enforcement agencies across the country in this year’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.

The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
