United Soccer Academy teams enjoy successful fall seasons

U17 girls take tourney title to end outdoor season, U12 boys and U9 girls also finish strong

The U17 Elite Black girls team from United Soccer Academy in Oak Brook competed in the annual premier Midwest SLSG Girls Fall Classic and College Showcase in St. Louis in early November.

The team finished first in their tourney bracket and did not allow a goal over two days of games. Prior to the tourney, the girls went 3-1-3 in the outdoor season playing at the U18 in the Illinois Women's Soccer League.

Players from Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Oak Brook, Elmwood Park, Chicago, Elmhurst, Tinley Park, Oak Park and Western Springs comprised the team.

Additionally, United Soccer Academy’s U12 Boys Elite Black team had a successful fall season. They earned first place honors in the Northern Illinois Soccer League Silver Division with an 8-1-1 record.

They also won the 2013 Fall Hawks Cup Soccer Tournament in a penalty shootout over Eclipse Premier East Black. The team is made up of players from Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Elmhurst, Darien and Willowbrook.

Ben Anderson, Michael Campbell, David Chu, Evan Drew, Sean Gibbons, Eric Gotsch, Jake Hansmann, Michael Kocoras, Zach Kristy, Garrett Lambert, Conor Perkins, Andrew Trenta, Ashton Wilson and Anthony Zayed made up the team. The squad's trainer was Mark McNellis.

USA's U9 Elite Black girls team competed in the Scott Gallagher Fall Classic in St. Louis in early November and finished with a 2-1 record in the U9 girls Premier Division, which included a shutout victory in their second tournament game. The girls faced highly rated teams from Illinois and Missouri in the tournament that featured over 400 teams from across the Midwest. The team is made up of girls from Hinsdale, Elmhurst, Clarendon Hills, Westmont and Manhatten.

Allie Cummins, Julianna DeSimone, Ava Elliott, Grace Kittel, Carter Knotts, Jillian MacKinnon, Maddie Rogowski and Sienna Ricciardi made up the team, which was coached by Tony Hepburn.
