Reports: Shoplifting suspect shot by police

ROMEOVILLE – Media reports Friday morning indicate that police officers were involved in the shooting of a shoplifting suspect outside a Kohl's in Romeoville.

News sources said that officers responding to a shoplifting report late Thursday chased at least one suspect to a vehicle in the parking lot. When the suspect tried to drive away, reports said, one officer was dragged for some distance and a second officer fired several shots toward the driver.

News reports said that the suspect was hit in the shoulder by one of the shots fired.
