RIVERSIDE – The Principle Dance Company, a Forest Park-based dancing school for kids and adults, will present a family friendly version of “The Nutcracker” ballet at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The presentation will be at Riverside Brookfield High School, 160 Ridgewood Road, in Riverside.

The Nutcracker Ballet, a celebrated holiday tradition, is the story of a young girl’s Christmas dream set to Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s score and told through dance. This abridged version of the ballet is a perfect way to introduce young children to the classic tale, according to a news release.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.principledance.com.

Dancers will perform favorites, such as the Battle Scene, Waltz of the Snowflakes, Arabian Coffee and Waltz of the Flowers. The production features colorful costumes and classical choreography.

Principle Dance was founded in Riverside in 2007. The company moved to its new location at 7610 Roosevelt Road, in Forest Park in 2012.
