Downers Grove AAUW announces scholarship winners

DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove area branch of the American Association of University Women announced four Back-To-The-Books scholarships and grants.

AAUW congratulated the women on their accomplishments.

Recipients included:

• Karen Johnson Brana of Woodridge attends North Central College and is getting her bachelor's degree in Psychology.

• Suzanne Kellman of Downers Grove attends Midwestern University and is getting her Doctor of Dental Medicine.

• Janelle Mackowiak of Lisle attends National University of Health Sciences and is getting her Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine.

• Christina Yancey of Downers Grove attends Midwestern University and is getting her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.

The Downers Grove AAUW raises the scholarship money through their annual Used Book Sale, held in June at Henry Puffer School.

Residents interested in donating books may drop them off from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 11, March 8 and May 10 at Eagle Storage, 555 Rogers St., in Downers Grove.
