WESTMONT – The Westmont Community Unit School District 201 School Board will host a public hearing on a proposed 7.94 percent tax levy increase on Tuesday.

The 2013 tax levy will request a 7.94 percent increase, with about 1.7 percent increase coming from the CPI (Consumer Price Index).

During the Nov. 19 board meeting, business manager Kim Anderson presented the School Board with a tax levy presentation outlining this year's process.

Anderson said the recommendation is a $23.3 million total levy, which includes debt service funds.

"We want to be sure we don't lose any potential revenue to the district," she said.

The public hearing will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at Westmont Village Hall, 31 W. Quincy St.
