Bloomingdale residents Sue (left) and Bruce Modica have purchased more than 50 vehicles from Joe Cotton Ford of Carol Stream during the past four decades.

CAROL STREAM – The year was 1974. The car was a Ford Maverick Grabber.

Bloomingdale residents Bruce and Sue Modica bought their first vehicle from Joe Cotton Ford nearly 40 years ago, according to a news release.

“We had recently moved to the area and Joe Cotton Ford has just opened so we decided to stop in,” Modica said in the release.

To date, the Modica family has purchased 81 Joe Cotton vehicles across four generations.

Bruce and Sue alone have bought more than 50. When their children and grandchildren started driving, the family tradition continued.

“We have banners throughout the showroom signed by people who have purchased our vehicles,” said General Manager Paul Cotton in the release. “The Modica family has their own banner, complete with 81 signatures.”

Most recently, the couple purchased a 2014 Ford Escape.

“We have a very loyal staff, and they’re all on board with making sure our customers are completely satisfied 100 percent of the time,” said Joe Cotton Ford Vice President Tracy Conn in the release. “It’s about integrity, creating a great culture and an exceptional buying experience, and our customers realize that.”
