Published: Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 1:19 p.m. CDT

ELMHURST – Santa and Mrs. Claus won't be sporting their usual sleigh when they visit Elmhurst this weekend.

Instead the jolly couple will hitch a ride on a fire truck to the city's tree lighting. Elmhurst City Centre will host the event. Holiday music, treats and kiddie train rides will be available to those who attend.

Residents are invited to the free event from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Police Plaza, First Street and Commerce Parkway.

Santa and his wife will arrive at 6 p.m.
