Published: Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 2:19 p.m. CDT

In a bit of friendly competition, State Sen. Michael Connelly and State Rep. Jeanne Ives will each collect toys to donate to a local nonprofit for the holidays, according to a news release from Ives' office.

From Dec. 2 through 4, each district office will collect toys for Family Shelter Service, a nonprofit that provides resources to victims of domestic abuse in DuPage County.

Residents can drop off gifts at 1725 S. Naperville Road, Suite 200, in Wheaton. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the drive.
