Family Shelter Service will host its second annual "Home Sweet Home" breakfast and gingerbread decorating event Dec. 7, according to a news release from the nonprofit.

The event will support the organization's efforts to provide resources for victims of domestic abuse and will include a breakfast buffet, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, musical entertainment, facepainting and more. Children will be able to bring home their gingerbread creations at the end of the festivities.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at The Abbington in Glen Ellyn.

Attendees can register online at www.familyshelterservice.org. The cost is $40 for adults and $25 for children.
