BERWYN – A traffic stop by Berwyn police led to two men being charged with heroin possession at 3:10 p.m. Nov. 19, according to police reports.

Berwyn police reported officers stopped a car driven by Shawn J. White, 37, of the 2400 block of South Hainseworth Avenue, North Riverside, in the 2100 block of Maple Avenue for not making a complete stop at an intersection.

According to police, White and his passenger, George H. Donnamario, 40, of the 8000 block of Edgewater Road, Riverside, appeared nervous during questioning, which prompted police to conduct a search. Donnamaria told officers he had a bag of heroin in his pocket. A canine unit arrived and the dog alerted on the inside trunk of the vehicle, where numerous small bags of a white power were found in an open cigarette carton. The powder field tested positive as heroin, police said.

White and Donnamario were both charged with possession of heroin and White was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
