Local schools collecting for residents affected by tornadoes

LA GRANGE PARK – Nazareth Academy is partnering with St. Louise de Marillac, YMCA La Grange and Tischler Finer Foods in Brookfield to collect items for residents of Washington, Ill., affected by last weekend’s tornadoes. 

Items including water, non-perishable food, toilet paper, paper towels and plastic baggies can be delivered to any of the following four locations:

• Nazareth Academy, 1209 W. Ogden Ave., La Grange Park, between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Nov. 20 to 22. 

• St. Louise de Marillac School, 1125 Harrison Ave., La Grange Park, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 20 to 22.

• Tischler Finer Foods, 9118 Broadway Ave., Brookfield, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 20 to 22 and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 23 and 24. 

• YMCA La Grange, 1100 E. 31st St., La Grange Park, 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 20 to 22; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 23; and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m Nov. 24. 

On Nov. 25, St. Louise de Marillac School principal Kelly Zawisza will deliver the items to Washington.
