GLEN ELLYN – Members of a Glen Ellyn labor union are protesting a concrete contractor working at the site of the future Autumn Leaves Memory Care Assisted Living Facility at Bloomingdale and Geneva roads in Glen Ellyn.

According to signs displayed at the local construction site, members of Laborers Local 96 are specifically protesting Maple Park-based concrete contractor W.M. Olsen and Sons for allegedly "not paying area wages and fringe benefits."

The union has picketed the site for several days with a giant inflatable rat, which commonly is used in union protests.

Representatives from W.M. Olsen and Sons, developer The LaSalle Group and Laborers Local 96 did not return multiple requests for comment.

Signs displayed at the site by the union state the "dispute does not involve any other employer" besides W.M. Olsen and Sons.
