York pair signs Division I letters of intent

ELMHURST – York boys basketball senior Frank Toohey and Dukes' softball standout Angela Scalzitti signed letters of intent last week to continue their careers in college.

Toohey will play for Air Force. The Falcons play in the same conference, the Mountain West Conference, as Toohey's teammate last year at York, David Cohn. Cohn is a freshman at Colorado State. Toohey, a 6-foot-8 forward, will lead the Dukes this winter.

Scalzitti signed with DePaul. She led the York softball team to a fourth place finish at state last spring, which was the program's first state trophy. Scalzitti is a top basestealing threat that bat in the leadoff spot and played centerfield for York.
